How to restore your Avast Passwords data using a backup?
Avast Passwords, the password and data manager, helps you secure your sensitive information, mainly the passwords in one place. With this, you can enter the information required in the web forms in no time. Also, you can access your online accounts such as email IDs quickly. When you sync the Avast Passwords on different devices, it automatically creates a backup of the data stored in it.
If you have lost the information (passwords), you have stored in the Avast Passwords then follow the below procedure to restore it using a backup:
(Please note the below-mentioned process applies to only specific Avast products running on a Windows platform. If you are using it on Mac or any other platform, kindly contact Avast support team for help)
1. Find and then access the email you previously received from the Avast antivirus
a. Check the email with the subject “your backup identity”
b. Hit Restore link to get back your data
รจ Note- You need to check the email account you have used to create your Avast account to enable the sync on your first device
2. A dialog box will appear
3. Open the Avast Antivirus
4. Hit Start Now in the Avast window
5. Sign in to your Avast account, if asked on the screen
6. Enter your Master password for the PC you are trying to restore your Avast Password data
7. Hit OK
8. Now, enter the Master Password for the original device from the group of devices you have previously synchronized your data
9. Hit Confirm
a. You have successfully restored your Avast Passwords data
10. Once the restore process finishes, hit Close
11. You can now see the previously synchronized Passwords data on the home screen of Avast Passwords
If you fail to do so, contact Avast customer support team and a technician will respond to you quickly.
