How to export the Norton Identity Safe data | Norton

Now-a-days, the cybercriminals have adopted the strategy of stealing the identity of some user for accessing the personal details of the other users, to harm them in several ways. Thus, the Symantec Corporations has included the Norton Identity Safe as one of the services or the inbuilt features within its products for securing the identities of its users from getting stolen by some malicious users.

Sometimes the users need to export their Norton Identity Safe data for fulfilling various purposes like security, data recovery, or when the Norton Setup user transfers their Identity safe product to some other device. Thus, this has been recommended to the users of Norton Setup products like Norton Identity Safe to create the periodic backup of their data as vault password cannot be reset.

Once the backup has been created by the users then, the vault data is made available within the local storage of the device. Else, the users may also enable the feature of “Automatic Backup” within the Norton Setup for automatically creating the backup of the data, periodically. Access the link as: Norton.com/setup, for getting the Norton products like NU16, Norton Identity safe, and many more Norton Setup to the device.

Solution:

Follow the steps detailed below for exporting the Norton Identity safe data:

1.       Launch the user interface of the installed Norton Setup to the device, by clicking its icon from the desktop.

2.       And then, tap the “Identity” option on the main window.

3.       After this, select the “Identity Safe” option.

4.       Here, select the gear icon i.e. the “Settings” icon displayed at the bottom rightmost corner.

5.       And then, go to the “Import/Export” tab.

6.       Here under the “Export” section, choose any one of the following file formats, as listed below:

a.       Identity Safe Backup Format – DAT File

b.      Plain Text – CSV file (Logins & Notes only)

(Please Note: The users may access their vault backed up data created using the Norton Setup by following the path as shown below:

My Documents >> Norton Identity Safe >> Backups >> <Norton Account Name>)

7.       After this, click the “Export” button.

8.       Now, enter the either the Norton Account or the vault password for exporting the Identity Safe Data within the “Validate Password for Identity Safe” window.

9.       After this, click the “OK” button to the confirmation window appeared on the screen.
